According to a press release from the Social Security Administration (SSA), people who receive SSI benefits and did not file 2018 or 2019 taxes, should immediately go to the IRS website to provide their bank information to receive the $1,200 individual stimulus check.
In addition to the stimulus check, they will also receive an additional $500 for each qualifying child under age 17. They need to file by Tuesday, May 5, in order to receive additional payments for their eligible children quickly.
To apply, they will enter their name, address, Social Security Number (SSN), bank information, driver\u2019s license or state-issued ID, and their qualifying child\u2019s name and SSN on the Non-Filers: Enter Your Information<\/em> section on irs.gov\/coronavirus\/non-filers-enter-your-payment-info-here<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSo that you will receive the full amount of the Economic Impact Payments you and your family are eligible for.\u201d
The SSA are also advising the public to be aware of scams related to the Economic Impact Payments.
\u201cThere is no fee required to receive these payments. Don\u2019t be fooled,\u201d said Saul.
