Health Insurance Marketplace Consumers Required To File Federal Taxes

If you’re a consumer enrolled in 2022 Marketplace health insurance, you must file your federal taxes by April 18, 2023.

To lower insurance costs, most consumers received an advanced premium tax credits based on their estimated income in 2022. Consumers must reconcile their estimated income with their actual income in 2022 by filing federal taxes. Any difference between the advanced premium tax credits and actual tax credits may impact their refunds or taxes owed.

Here are three reminders to consumers from the Legal Aid Society of Hawaii:

1. Get your 1095A from the mail or login to your Marketplace account and print the form.
2. Check that the information on your 1095A is correct. If there are any errors, call the Marketplace Call Center at 1-800-318-2596.
