Join Social Security’s Free Workshop On Medicare and Social Security Basics
The Social Security Administration (SSA) with the State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) is presenting Project Grad 65 presentation, a free virtual workshop to learn more about the basics of Medicare and Social Security.
The free virtual workshop will be held on Zoom on Monday, February 5 from, 10am to 12pm.
In the workshop, Hawaii SHIP volunteers will present Medicare basics while SSA Public Affairs Specialist Jane Burigsay will present Social Security 101.
Participants will learn about:
– The different parts of Medicare
– When and how to sign up for Medicare
– The different penalties that may incur
– Eligibility to receive retirement benefits
– When to file for Medicare
– How to get the most from the benefits
– How early retirement will affect the benefits
– The future of Social Security
