Hawaii Filipino Chronicle’s As I See It columnist Elpidio Estioko releases his memoir titled “Unlocking the Chain of Poverty: In Pursuit of the American Dream.”
Estioko’s memoir details his Filipino family’s exploits in the United States who reluctantly immigrated to the country at a time of declining global economy in the late 1990s.
His memoir showcases how necessity played a vital role in the Estioko family, prompting them to work harder and chased every opportunity that came their way in pursuit of the “American Dream.”
Published by Xlibris Publishing, the memoir includes a foreword written by former California District 25 Assembly member and Taiwanese immigrant Kansen Chu.
“The book [is] a must-read-book for all immigrants,” wrote Chu in his foreword. “It serves as an inspiration, especially for those who are new and starting their families in the US.”
